Antero Resources Corporation is Hiring a Maintenance technician Near Pennsboro, WV

Position Summary

Primarily responsible for conducting technical, preventative, non-routine, and regulatory maintenance tasks on a continual basis to ensure maximum runtime availability and efficiency on Midstream

gathering and compression equipment. Other responsibilities include performing diversified duties to safety and adequately service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair gas-fired engines and natural gas

compressors. Also train and mentor other mechanics on specific maintenance duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow all of the Safety, Health, and Environmental policies, procedures, and requirements, ensuring personal safety, safety of others, and safety of the work site and surrounding area.
  • Conduct work in a professional manner at all times and provide excellent customer service to upstream business unit.
  • Adhere to lockout and tagout and Hot Work procedures when performing all equipment maintenance.
  • Responsible for submitting accurate work orders, expense reports, timesheets, and other necessary paperwork on a daily basis.
  • Directly communicate on a continuous basis with management to provide updates on activities, address issues, and support operations.
  • Anticipate, evaluate, and troubleshoot abnormal and / or unusual operating conditions to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Provide technical services, troubleshooting and mechanical efficiency analysis for the Midstream business units.
  • Conduct Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) inspections on compressor stations and other Midstream facilities to identify emission losses and maintain regulatory compliance expectations and standards.
  • Conduct pressure relief valve testing and inspections to comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with the Midstream Environmental Compliance and Air Quality Group to ensure regulatory requirements are met while changing regulatory stipulations are understood and integrated into the business plan.
  • Conduct Windrock (or equivalent) performance analysis on rotating equipment to verify expected system performance, run diagnostic testing and identify mechanical inefficiencies.
  • Prepare inspection findings with analysis results and submit reports into the Enterprise Asset Management system.
  • Diagnose engine and compressor problems to determine root cause of failure and / or inefficiencies while also developing solutions with a corrective action plan.
  • Ensure all documentation is compliant with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Develop Standard Operating Practices (SOP) to support the Midstream business unit.
  • Develop and leverage new technology to enhance technical services and operational reliability.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform responsibilities during call-outs and off hours for high priority work and emergencies that require timely response and actions
  • Assist other midstream departments with maintenance and regulatory field activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, Licensure

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience performing mechanical and / or electrical maintenance and troubleshooting on rotating equipment.
  • Five (5) years of experience with Caterpillar and Waukesha natural gas fired engines and Ariel reciprocating compressors or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of infrared camera operation or other emission related inspections, relief valve testing, and Windrock analysis or equivalent performance evaluation software.
  • Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company’s Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle.

Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure

  • Vocational or technical education in related field.
  • Operator qualification certifications for related tasks.
  • Relief valve testing and repair certification.
  • Windrock or equivalent training and certification.
  • Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) camera training and certification.
  • Certified to test, rebuild, and replace Pressure Relief Valves (PRV).

Required Core Competencies Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Effective at working independently and exercising excellent judgment when completing tasks.
  • Great time management and organizational skills. Able to set priorities, develop a work schedule, and monitor progress towards goals.
  • Excellent skills at troubleshooting process system utilizing methodical and quantitative approach.
  • Able to recognize and apply safety processes and procedures.
  • Proficient knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of electric and gas engine driven compressor package maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Proficient knowledge of pneumatic and electric starters, fuel systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, ignition systems and other compression related anatomy.
  • Functional electrical, mechanical, and computer knowledge.
  • Progressive knowledge of Waukesha VHP’s, Ariel, Caterpillar.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Outlook, Excel, Word, etc. and use / operation of standard office equipment.
  • Excellent knowledge of hazards and safety details on site.
  • Progressive knowledge of machine and tools, including their designs, uses, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment focusing on teamwork and unity.
  • Able to troubleshoot and solve more complex maintenance issues by adapting procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques.
  • Able to present, demonstrate, teach, or guide others in performance of assigned work.
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Functions as an individual contributor with no company supervisory responsibility.

  • Extreme cold and heat : temperatures typically below 32o F or above 100o F for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions as wind, rain, snow, and humidity.
  • Noise : there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
  • Vibration : exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
  • Hazards : includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals.
  • Working near or with heavy tools and moving machinery.
  • Exposure to high-pressure.

Physical Demands

  • The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently handle, install, position, move materials and manipulate things.
  • The employee will frequently lift, push, carry and / or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Be able to bend, stoop, crouch, etc. frequently.
  • Frequent amount of traversing through challenging terrain to evaluate project sites, conditions, manually inspect slopes or perform work.

Travel Requirements

  • Minimal travel may be required to other locations.
  • Frequent travel to Company’s field operations.
